Welcome to Just 4 Barks! 

After teaching school for 28 years, I knew that I needed a hobby. In 2019, I started baking at a local dog bakery.  Finding my way around the kitchen was not difficult because I am from a family who loves to bake.  I can remember helping my grandmother decorate birthday cakes and even a wedding cake or two. My Mom was always teaching my sister and I tricks in the kitchen.  Boy, did she love to cook!  Through the years, I have always made birthday cakes for my children. In the classroom, I had been known to use cooking or decorating activities with my students. 

I’m looking forward to starting a new dog bakery that will reach out to the community and other small businesses to meet the needs of their customers. Be assured that all the recipes have met the standards to be a SC Certified Products.

Even though Dutchess passed as of July 26,2023 she still part of the original 4 barks and we will leave her bio. Dutchess was a 16-year-old chihuahua. She had been a part of our family since she was a puppy.  She brought many periods of joy and laughter to our family. She understood  several phrases like…. “Do you want a treat?” and “Are you ready to go to bed?”  She was not a picky eater and never turned her nose up to any of our treats.  Her favorite treat was the Cinnamon Crunch Cookie. 

Sadie is a 8-year-old Lab Boykin mix. Sadie has the drive to hunt for birds and always has her eyes on the sky....unless a peanut butter-flavored treat is around, which is featured in the majority of our treats. Sadie especially looks forward ANY of our non-decorated treats. No….She is not spoiled at all!!

Freckles is a chihuahua that was rescued from a puppy mill in 2021.  After being examined by our veterinarian, Freckles had many teeth pulled and was placed on a special diet due to having  gastroenteritis. Over the past year, she has learned to trust us and begs for treats. Although we are careful not to let her overindulge, she does enjoy a pup-kin or cinnamon crunch treat on occasion since they are our softest cookies.

Harper  is a King Charles Cavalier. She has quickly learned that if I’m in the kitchen, there is a good chance that she may get a treat.  Her favorite treat is the Nutty Buddy. She loves to cuddle and enjoys chasing the other taste testers around.  She doesn’t hesitate to steal their treats either. 

Hannah is a rescue from Hart County Rescue. She is full of energy and loves for anyone to throw the ball for her. She will lick your face if she is given the chance. She is thought to be a chihuahua and I think a little bit of Pomeranium. It doesn't matter, she is loved .
